International Professionals Association  
International Professionals Association provides members and their associates with a forum where they can meet regularly with practitioners in the international business and financial services sector associated therewith: to network; discuss issues of common interest/concern; and to benefit from the comments of a guest speaker, expert in a topic of contemporaneous interest.” Our meetings are conducted on a low key, cost effective basis, thereby minimising the time and expense required by members and their associates to maintain an active involvement.

A forum where they can meet regularly with other practitioners in the international professional intermediaries sector and domestic sectors associated therewith. 2. Network with other like minded professionals and develop mutually rewarding business relationships; 3. Benefit from the comments of lectures and presentations, guest speakers, expert in topics of contemporaneous interest; and 4. Discuss issues of common interest and concern to international professional intermediaries and their clients.

Simon began his offshore career in 1988 with The Consult Group, Principality of Andorra before joining the Gibraltar offices of The Sovereign Group in 1990, still the HQ of Sovereign. During his 6 years based in Gibraltar he was the Managing Director of Sovereign Trust (Gibraltar) Ltd, he served two terms as Chairman of the Association of Trust & Company Managers and was a member of the Gibraltar Government Financial Sector Legislation Committee. Simon then moved to London in 1996 to establish the Group’s UK subsidiaries and he continues to be the Managing Director of these two companies.

Simon has been the Chairperson of the UK Chapter of The Offshore Institute, is still the Vice President of The Royal Society of Fellows, continues to be a member of The Institute of Management and with David Baron became the founder and Chairman of International Professionals Association Ltd. Simon is a regular lecturer and speaker at tax planning conventions throughout the world. Simon was once a professional squash player and is now an international cyclist.

Steven was born in Manchester and grew up in Reading attending the Reading Blue Coat School. 
He went to the University of Essex where he studied Economics and then joined Blick Rothenberg where he qualified as a chartered accountant.  He then joined Ernst & Young (or Arthur Young as it was then).  He joined Berg Kaprow Lewis in 1988 becoming a partner in 1990.  He left them in 1993 to form S H Landes LLP (also accountants of IPAL) which has now grown to become the leading small firm of chartered accountants dealing with Russia and the CIS market. Steven lectures regularly to members of the Russo British Chamber of Commerce with Russia Consulting on setting up and operating businesses in Russia, and has had several articles published in Kommersant on tax and other corporate issues effecting Russians either living in or trading with the UK. He has also been interviewed by leading media organisations on the effect on sanctions on Russia and has advised the UK government on taxation on trade with Russia. 

Steven is married with two children and lives in Kent.  When not working he is an avid Spurs fan.

Steven Landes – fOUNDING MEMBER

Simon has been involved with banking throughout his working life. For 23 years, until March 2011, Simon was employed by Banco Santander Totta, London Branch, a Portuguese Bank wholly owned by the Santander Group, the last 12 years as the Deputy General Manager the principal responsibility for the branch’s commercial and retail activities. In this respect he was responsible for building a mortgage portfolio targeted at individuals (mainly UK and Irish) purchasing property in Portugal. 

Since leaving the Bank  Simon has established his own company, Perks Property Financial Solutions Limited (www.perks-pfs.com ) which assists individuals with respect to their requirements in Portugal , ranging from locating properties, financing, insurance and foreign exchange. Simon is also by a number of ‘HNWI’ to locate investment (mainly property) opportunities in Portugal.. 
Simon also acts as a consultant for Business Banking Solutions (kindly refer to www.businessbankingsolutions.co.uk ) which comprises of a team of Banking Experts with specialist knowledge of many aspects of the banking system and which primarily seeks to assist individuals and businesses in their negotiations with Banks. 

In addition Simon is the Vice Chairman of the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce (kindly refer to www.portuguese-chamber.org.uk) and Executive Officer – Portugal for the Association of International Property Professionals (‘AIPP’) (kindly refer to www.aipp.org.uk)

sIMON pERKS – FOUNDING MEMBER

Richard was admitted as a solicitor in 1978 and was a partner in the firm of Mayfair Solicitors for many years.  He is now a Corporate Commercial Partner in the City Office of Kidd Rapinet LLP. 

Richard has acted for overseas clients for most of his career and is familiar with many of the difficulties that they are likely to encounter in setting up a business in the UK. 

Through him, Kidd Rapinet has become a member of the UK Advisory Network (set up by UK Trade & Investment) which is a network of advisors providing high quality and trusted professional support for foreign investors setting up in the UK.

RICHARD CRUICKSHANK - FOUNDING MEMBER
